World's End Collection 2021
An exquisite pairing of spiritual motifs with the vibrancy of swinging London, The Vale’s largest collection yet is a seamless marriage of ancient and contemporary artistry. Each design reflects primordial folklore seen through the lens of modern life, highlighting the visual kinship between artists, ritual and symbols across different times and customs. It’s a kinship we’re still striving for today, as we return to our ancestors again and again, for inspiration and guidance.
Named for the fashionable Chelsea district at the heart of the sixties’ counterculture revolution, World’s End is a nod to those heady days of incense and spiritual paraphernalia, but with a knowing twist. From January 1st 2021, new fabrics and wallpaper brim with bold colours and psychedelic patterns, yet retain the hand-drawn and botanical Vale signatures you know and love.
As the collection name suggests, designer Melinda Marquardt has travelled to the ends of the Earth to bring you this celebration of cultures from around the world. Touching on textile techniques from Central America, the Caribbean, West Africa and China, World’s End gathers together unique designs from every corner of the globe, each with its own story to tell.
