Introducing Calusa, a luxurious fabric that epitomises the timeless elegance and rich symbolism of the hibiscus flower. Available in three captivating hues—Blueberry, Olive, and Claret.
Printed on a crisp cotton poplin, Calusa features a light striation that adds a subtle texture, enhancing its beauty. This multipurpose fabric is ideal for creating elegant drapery or sophisticated upholstery.
In China, the hibiscus flower remains a symbol of fame, wealth, and glory, often given to men and women as a sign of respect and recognition of their achievements. It was first introduced to the United Kingdom from Japan in the 17th century. Today, these blooms can be admired in exquisite gardens across Europe, including the renowned Kew Gardens, where our artistic director found inspiration. Originally painted using watercolour, the delicate beauty and vibrant colours of the hibiscus are masterfully translated into a digitally printed textile, reflecting the flower's rich heritage and beauty.
